CAREER GUIDANCE

Research shows that people are happiest and most successful at work when they are doing a job they enjoy. By exploring one's natural preferences we will uncover the careers you are most likely to succeed in.

Career planning is a process that involves what we refer to as a 'feedback loop'. The loop includes:

Self-Information – information about your interests, abilities, values and personality. Often established by understanding your Genetic Brain Profile

World-of-Work Information – information about jobs, educational experiences (i.e. honours) and career fields.

This model implies that as teens learn more about themselves, they learn more about potential careers and are constantly exposed to various career opportunities. In turn, it is encouraged that they do further research on careers, acknowledge their reactions to them, and reflect on who they are as a person and their intended direction in life. This process encourages flexibility and confidence in making changes or new choices when the opportunity arises.

The process involved

The initial consultation will establish a learner's current academic ability and ...

A full Genetic Brain Profile assessment will be conducted and the profile established.

An in-depth feedback session explains the outcomes and meaning of one's Genetic brain profile. This feedback is supported by a fully comprehensive written report.

An interest questionnaire is completed by the teen who is then made aware of their interests and abilities and how they can relate these to possible work opportunities.

Additional assessments are also available and the need to do them will be established at the initial contact session. These include an aptitude assessment and a assessment used to establish a teens Locus Of Control.

A full report outlining the Career Guidance suggestions will be provided 7 -10 days after the initial assessment. It includes information about the qualifications, where they can be studied, how long they take to complete, a brief description of the type of work done in each, and the type of companies that may recruit those graduates.

Career Guidance can be arranged privately, or for school groups. Please contact us to make an appointment, or to find out the group rates.
