There is no such thing as one successful, ultimate way of studying – each learner has his/her preferences when studying but there are always very helpful hints which can make this process easier and learners must be given the opportunity to be aware of these methods and startegies. Remember that all children have their own unique learning style and preferences and thus our study skills course is tailor made to accommodate these differences.

How is this done?

An initial assessment will establish which methods (mind maps or linear) are best suited for the learner and then appropriate skills and strategies will be introduced to the child. Memory devices will be developed and follow up sessions will ensure that these newly acquired skills are being put into practice.

These are usually children who have difficulty with integration in mainstream school (sometimes special needs schools too), for whatever reason: physical, neurological, psychological, emotional or barriers to learning. The differences that these children experience are multiple and your specific child will have specific needs, skills, functioning abilities that will determine the level of involvement. No two children are ever the same!

The importance of Understanding Learning Styles

It is essential that we as parents and educators acknowledge that learner's all have unique and various learning styles and techniques. Learning styles group common ways that people learn. At Square-Peg Training and Development a child's learning style can be established and made known by using a simple, non-evasive physical assessment known as muscle testing. It exposes a mix of learning styles and equips the learners with the necessary skills needed to master their natural learning preferences.
