![]() FACILITATION At Square Peg Training & Development Inclusive Education is all about celebrating difference and accommodating diversity by attending to individual needs in the classroom. One size does not fit all! Classroom focussed Learning Support and facilitation (not Remedial which is traditional and based on the old medical model) is offered and encouraged within inclusion. Who needs facilitation? ![]() These are usually children who have difficulty with integration in mainstream school (sometimes special needs schools too), for whatever reason: physical, neurological, psychological, emotional or barriers to learning. The differences that these children experience are multiple and your specific child will have specific needs, skills, functioning abilities that will determine the level of involvement. No two children are ever the same! Why Facilitation? These children benefit greatly from an effective learning facilitator who can support and assist them in order for them to reach their full potential and often independence. We aim to facilitate the learners' to use compensatory learning skills to compensate for their differences, to strengthen their strengths and overcome their weaknesses. Of paramount importance is that we look at abilities (the half full glass) as opposed to the difficulties (the half empty glass!). |
