WHERE DOES GENETIC BRAIN ORGANISATION PROFILING COME FROM?

The GBOP is the brain-child of Dr Annette Lotter (PhD Education and PhD Curriculum Development). She began researching and developing the concept of the GBOP back in the 1980’s while she was teaching at underprivileged schools in townships and rural areas. Dr Lotter realised that the standard IQ tests of the time were based on a Westernised frame of reference, and hence were biased against the children she was testing. Therefore, in order to overcome the biases of language, experience, culture and desirability factors, as well as other factors, she realised she would have to design a physical assessment, and thus she developed the Genetic Brain Organisational Profile.
