![]() WHAT IS AN IEP? Individual Educational Programmes (IEP’s) are a description of services for learners who are experiencing barriers to learning and development. Consequently, IEP’s are designed for a particular child and thus cater for his/her unique, learning needs and learning styles. If academic, social or behavioural needs are identified, it is the responsibility of the IEP team to identify these barriers and then to devise goals and strategies to address the learning process (Smith et al, 2004).At Square-Peg Training & Development an initial holistic assessment is prepared and includes establishing a child’s Genetic Brain Organisation Profile. Using this as our departure point a number of practical methods, strategies, learning strategies and interventions are identified and used to assist educators, parents and the learner himself to better deal with any differences to learning and to accommodate any distinctive needs within a regular classroom and home environment. |
